First half of our long weekend...

Happy Fourth of July Monday! Aren't long weekends just the best!?! Well, technically Chad has to work today but he should get off early-ish and then we can continue our long weekend! We have had such a busy first part of the weekend and I thought it would be fun to share what we've been up to!

Thursday night and Saturday night we had dinner with some of Chad's colleagues.  Thursday night we shut down our neighborhood restaurant and Saturday night we were actually headed back there but they were super crowded so we went over to "The Castle" as we call it for drinks and apps (we had some amazing duck fat fries! OMG!) The Castle is an amazing hotel and golf course near us and it is so so beautiful! One day soon we are going to have a spa day and take advantage of their beautiful pool!

Selfie in the appliance aisle!
With moving day coming up soon we have a little bit of adulting left to do.  Our new home will come with appliances but we do need to pick out our own fridge.  There are so many options! We are looking at Whirlpool french door ones since they will match the rest of our appliances- if you have any recommendations please let me know! Who knew there were so many different options in french door fridges!

Chad was such a trooper, he doesn't really care which fridge we get he just wants me to make a decision! (And of course not buy the most expensive one!!)

While I am a firm believer that an October Carolina Blue sky is the most beautiful around, I have to admit Alabama is pretty beautiful in it's own right! I have seen gorgeous sunsets but I don't remember seeing this kind of sunset on the regular before we moved.  Maybe I'm just less stressed now and have more time to notice things like this but seriously, they are so so beautiful! I'm apologizing now in advance for all of the sunsets you will see on my insta stories! (@onesouthernbelleblog)

My favorite part of Chad playing soccer down here is the fact that other guys also bring their girls :) Before I was always sitting by myself reading (which I got some really great reading done btw!) Now, not only do I have a few new friends (hi Sydney and Christy!) but we have picnics every Sunday night while the boys play! Last night was the best one yet so we had to document it obviously! (and I'm actually eating that chex mix for breakfast as I write this post!)

I just have to point out this Avondale brewery beer! I have never been a beer person, I just don't like it! Chad loves to try new craft beers and I'm always down to taste it but I never want a whole one! Sydney told me about this beer a few weeks ago and she brought some last night and I'm happy to report that I actually like it!

I have a few errands to run before Chad gets home but then it's back to the pool for us! I've been scoping out some firework spots for us for tomorrow night!

Thanks for reading! xo-Em
