goals and resolutions for 2017

New beginnings are always a great time to start over with a clean slate and assess where you are and where you want to go.  Perhaps, that's why, all over the world, millions of people start New Year's Resolutions.  We all want to lose weight, get healthier, clean out our closets/garages/cars/attics, work out more, spend more time with our families, save more money and the lists continue to grow each year.   Our "go big or go home" attitudes sound great but, we set so many bars so high for ourselves, that it's almost as if we are setting ourselves up for failure.

This year, I am taking my goals baby steps at a time while still keeping in mind the bigger picture.  We have a destination wedding coming up in August (yes we are already married there will be another post on this at some point!). While it seems as if all brides want to look their best on their wedding day, I want to make sure I can spend a whole week with our family and friends in a bathing suit and only worry about reapplying my sunscreen! (as much as I try to fight it - I'm pale and I burn!) Feeling self conscious and not good enough is sooo 2016, I have a man in my life who loves me exactly how I am and I need to rest soundly in that!  That being said, I'm also a woman who is always searching for the better/best version of myself!  This year I'm going to work as hard as I can both in the kitchen and in the gym to put my very best self out there!

Of course, I'm going to do my best to clean more, sleep less, work harder and smarter, love harder, eat better etc. etc. etc., however; this year I'm going to try to be a bit easier on myself. Knowing that I'm going to have good days and bad but that a bad day doesn't have to mean a bad week or a bad month.  Each day, I'm going to do my best and know that when I lay down even if I have laundry waiting to be folded or dishes needing to be washed that that particular day was the best it could be.  Living life to the fullest and being the happiest version of myself that I can be!

Happy New Year's!!!
